Also, wear comfortable shoes and clothing if you wish to participate in some light physical activity (strictly voluntary). To register and schedule your specific time, contact Paul Raudenbush.
NASA HQ Credential Renewals (SMART CARD BADGES)
As NASA Headquarters personnel are approaching the expiration date on their NASA credentials that were first issued five years ago, you will be receiving an email from IdMAX instructing you to contact the Security Badging Office to renew your “Smart Card”, which is actually your credential. Due to the anticipated volume, please follow the instructions and make an appointment as soon as possible to enroll for your new credential (Smart Card). The enrollment process, on average, may take 20 minutes to complete. After that, you can expect your credential (Smart Card) to be delivered to Headquarters anywhere from 3-6 weeks, frequently sooner. You will then be notified by email when it has been received by the Security Office and encoded so you can easily make another appointment to program and activate it with your PIN, which only takes about 10 minutes.
If you are due for an OPM re-investigation and need to update your e-QIP, you will be notified by email from the Headquarters Security Office. If this is the case, please complete your e-QIP as soon as possible as your credentials cannot be approved until e-QIP is completed.
Headquarters Turnstile Project
NASA HQ Security Office is working toward returning the access control turnstiles to their full functionality in both the East and West lobby areas of the facility. Since the project resumed early in 2011 there have been many upgrades to the hardware and software applications associated with turnstile operations. In addition to the various upgrades made, FASD is planning to deploy an extended testing period prior to full turnstile arm activation.
