The President’s Active Lifestyle Challenge
Federal agencies across the country, including NASA, are participating in the President’s Active Lifestyle Challenge. The Challenge will take place August 9th through September 30th and is open to all federal employees, contractors, family members, and friends. The objective is to complete at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day, for a minimum of 5 days a week for the 6-week duration. The Challenge is designed to include those who already practice an active lifestyle and those who are currently less active. The Challenge includes a vast array of activities offering enough variety and flexibility to sustain interest and enthusiasm.
To participate, register at http://www.presidentschallenge.org/login/register_individual.aspx
To register, participants will create a log-in ID and password. When registering, you can join the NASA Team by entering 92287 for the Group ID number and UWS NASA for the Group Member ID/Name. Participants will log their exercise (physical activity) time on the site, choosing from a variety of activities from walking to household tasks.
Many of us already meet the requirement, but for others, this is a good opportunity to start a commitment to maintaining a regular exercise routine. NASA only receives credit for those who complete the Challenge, rather than those who simply register. If you have any questions, or need help registering for the Challenge, please contact the Fitness Center staff at 358-0138 or Christopher Warren at 358-1751.
